Pro-Equality Candidate Oscar Braynon II Wins Bid for Florida Senate 33
Congratulations to Oscar Braynon, II, who won his bid to represent District 33 in the Florida Senate. Mr. Braynon has been an ardent supporter of the LGBT community of Miami, and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, met with SAVE Dade to discuss pro-equality legislation he could support. The SAVE Dade Action PAC was thus confident in their endorsement of Mr. Braynon.
SAVE Dade volunteers, including students from Florida International University, held phone banks to get out the vote to supporters of equality. Calls were made to over a thousand SAVE Dade supporters in District 33, urging them to vote for Mr. Braynon, the pro-equality candidate.
Florida Senate District 33 has been no stranger to champions of equality. United States Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, as well as former US Representatives Carrie Meek and Kendrick Meek have held the seat.
SAVE Dade looks forward to working with Senator Braynon, a much-needed voice of fairness in our State’s capitol, as we continue to build a movement for equality in Florida.
